The Indian School of Business started the Young Leaders Program (ISB-YLP) for college students who were passionate about pursuing MBA. Eligibility Criteria for ISB YLP

Here are the conditions for who can apply for the ISB YLP:

  • Applicants must be in their pre-final or final year of college
  • They should have a valid GMAT or GRE scores before the stage 2 deadline.
  • A valid TOEFL/IELTS score is required if the medium of instruction is not English.
  • The final selection for the YLP is based on the candidate’s performance in the personal interview. Interviews will take place in October and November 2022.

Do you need work experience to join ISB YLP?

Since applicants are usually in the final year of their college, they do not need work experience for qualifying. However, after getting selected, they must have at least 2 years of work experience before 31st March the year they join ISB

What is the fee for ISB YLP?

The total fee of ISB YLP is 32-34 Lakhs, slightly steep when compared to other business schools in India. But is ISB YLP truly worth it?

How to Get Into ISB YLP?

With the competition to get into ISB YLP intensifying with each here, here is what you need to stand out from the rest of the crowd:

  • Great academic track record: Like any other business school, ISB expects an impressive GPA that attests to your academic intellect
  • GMAT/ GRE scores: ISB accepts GMAT scores ranging from 650 upward but if your score is in the range of 710 to 740, the path to ISB becomes easier. For the ISB MBA class of 2022, GRE scores range between 311 and 335. Thus, you should aim for at least 320+.
  • Leadership experience: A position of responsibility in a club or department, volunteer roles etc. shows that you have leadership experience and potential.
  • Essays: Essays are required in stages 1 and 2. These essays show the ad-com the kind of person you are and what do you bring to the table. 
  • Letter of references: A letter of reference is a vital part of any b-school application. Applicants have to submit the recommender’s details to ISB. They will be mailed an evaluation form, in which they are required to furnish details about your strengths, weaknesses, leadership skills, and achievements. Therefore, choose a recommender who knows you well.

ISB YLP Application Process

There are three stages in ISB YLP’s application process.

Stage 1: This includes the initial online application with details about class 10th and 12th marks, college CGPA, extracurricular activities, awards and achievements etc. You are also required to write an essay describing an incident that had the most profound influence on you. 

Stage 2: If shortlisted after stage 1, you must submit a GMAT/GRE score and write two essays. on your short term/long term goals and additional information that could affect the consideration of your admission at ISB.

Stage 3: The final stage is the interview round. You should be able to justify your essays during your interview. You should be prepared with every detail in your profile, CV, etc. Once selected, you know that you have a job even before you graduate. Sounds amazing right?

  • Register with your email id and password. Login after confirming you email
  • Fill application form with the required information and upload a scanned copy of signature and photograph. Note: image size should not be more than 50K
  • Carefully read and verify all the information and save application form
  • Pay the application fee and print the form for future reference
